After a very promising year of intense training, focus and dedication, Liana & Siena found themselves at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide this month, following their success at the state championships in Brisbane.
With pressure mounting they were able to hold their nerve and deliver excellent performances to earn two silver and one bronze medals between them!
Lianas desire to succeed was underpinned with a silver medal in the long jump. Liana produced a 4.10m jump to secure second place while competing in a tight field. Liana was unfortunate not to have competed in the sprint events due to illness.
Siena, having been so dominant throughout the year in multiple events, also secured a silver in the high jump with a fine effort of 1.36cm. Siena was also a member of the team which secured a bronze medal in the 4 x 100m relay for Queensland.
2017 has been an amazing year for these two excellent athletes. They have trained so hard and have learned to deal with a lot of pressure.
With guidance from myself and the ongoing support of their father Kenton, they have continued to develop and flourish. Working with positive and supportive parents is rewarding not only to the children, but coach also.
Well done to both of you!!!!
